Death Metal Buckles is founded by Andrew Silverman and Zach Johnsen, partners who also created the art based tshirt and apparel company, Tank Theory in 2001. Wishing to branch out into other art and fashion based accessories, the duo teamed up with fellow Mass Art graduate, sculptor and modeling expert, Adam Grinovich, and set out to create a totally unique product in the fashion accessory world. Thus, Death Metal Buckles was born. With Zach overseeing design, Adam sculpting the designs, Andrew overseeing production and a small, family owned operation casting the final product, Death Metal Buckles has become a company like no other… a small accessories line that is not only a function of faction, but also a stand alone work of art.
Made of 100% cast bronze and utilizing one of the earliest forms of metal casting, Death Metal Buckles blends history, craftsmanship and modern design. Each buckle is cast by hand in small batches and individually finished, creating unique buckles, each with its own characteristics and variations. Each and every Death Metal buckle is not only an accessory to fashion, but a unique work of art.
